Gabriel
Gabriel means "man of God, hero, power" and is an archangel from the religions of the Abrahamic religions such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, to the messenger of God. Gabriel appears both in the Old and New Testaments. In the book of Daniel, he appears to the prophet Daniel as an illustration of the meaning of the visage he experienced. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus appeared to Zacharias and the virgin Mary, and told each of them that John the Baptist and Jesus would be born. In the Gospel of Luke, he specifically referred to him as "the angel of the Lord." The Bible does not refer to Gabriel as an archangel, but like Elochus, Gabriel is called an archangel in the mid-term literature. The Roman Catholic Church, Eastern Orthodox Church, Oriental Orthodox Church, Anglican Church, and Lutheran Church have been honored with Mikael and Raphael as archangels.
