It is a collective term for the gastropods belonging to the dogs and is distributed about 200 species in the world. It is 1.5 to 15 cm long and is surrounded by colorful and shiny shells. There is a long, narrow narrow gap at the bottom. There are several small protrusions on each side of the mouth like teeth. Some species eat seaweeds, sponges and eat plants and small animals. It used to be used as currency in China, India and Africa. There are 7 known species in Korea.
