Far East Republic
The Far East Republic or the Cheetah Republic is a nominally independent state founded on the Far East territory of the Russian Empire on April 6, 1920. The establishment was proclaimed in Blagoveschensk. Although it represented an independent state, in reality the Far East Republic government was under the control of the Soviet Union established by the Bolsheviks. Its territory included the present Za Baikal region, Amur region, Khabarovsk province, and Primorsky province. In October 1920, the capital was Verhnevydynsk, and later the Cheetah. The term "Cheetah Republic" is also used to refer to this country. After the withdrawal of the Japanese army who intervened in the Russian revolution on November 15, 1922 in Siberia, the Far East Republic was merged into the Soviet Union as the executive branch of the former Central Executive Committee of Russia.
