Geumgang
Geumgang is a 402km river that flows from Hwangseong province to Gwangyeong-eup, Nonsan-si, Chungcheongnam-do and Jeollabuk-do through the Yellow Sea. Geumgang is the three great rivers of Korea after the Han and Nakdong rivers. It flows from Muju, Geumsan, Yeongdong, Okcheon, Boeun, Cheongju, Daejeon, Sejong, Gongju, Cheongyang, Nonsan, Buyeo and Seocheon to the west sea from Gunsan bay. Geum River is designated as national river. The major tributaries of the Geum River designated as national rivers are Gapcheon, Nonsancheon and Mihocheon, and fertile Hoseo plain was formed. Daecheong Dam is located in Daejeon Metropolitan City's Geum River basin, and there is the Keum River estuary downstream. Geumgang is used for major life, industry, agricultural water in Daejeon and Chungcheong area. In the past, waterway traffic developed and the city flourished around the Geum River basin.
