Functional Occupational Therapy Among the methods that are included in the occupational therapies, the purpose is to recover the function itself (for example, paralysis, muscle weakness, cooperative movement disorder, etc.), and the main object is exercise dysfunction. Recently, Certifications (immunocompromised patients) are also being treated. Functional occupational therapy is performed using various tasks (leatherworking, woodworking, weaving, etc.). Psychological effects such as interest in work and sense of accomplishment to produce objects play a major role in improvement of body function. Furthermore, the work can be expected to improve overall fitness and durability. 기능적작업요법 작업요법에 포함되는 방법 가운데 장애된 기능 그 자체(이를테면 마비ㆍ근력저하ㆍ협조운동장애 등)의 회복을 목적으로 이루어지는 것이고 주요대상은 운동기능장애인데 최근에는 실행증(失行症)이나 실인증(失認症) 등도 치료의 대상이 되고 있다. 기능적 작업요법은 여러가지 작업(가죽세공, 목공, 방직 등)을 이용해서 이루어지는데 작업에 대한 흥미나 물건을 만들어내는 성취감 등의 심리적 효과도 신체기능의 개선에 커다란 역할을 수행하고 있다. 더 나아가 작업을 함으로써 전반적인 체력이나 내구력의 향상도 기대할 수 있다.
