Gongju Gongsan castle is a historical site No. 12 located in Gongju-si, Chungcheongnam-do province. It is the representative ancient castle of Baekje and it was the city of Woongjin period until it was transferred from Hansung to Woongjin in the Han River basin in the first year of Baekje's reign (475), then through Samgung, Dongseong, It was also a military and administrative center in the Silla, Goryeo, and Chosun Dynasties. It is a natural fortress located on the ridge of 110m above sea level with the Kum river flowing to the north of the mountain. It is about 800m long to the east and west and about 400m long to the north and south. The length of the castle is 2,660m. It is a fortune-shaped building which was built along ridges and valleys. It was originally the fortress of Baekje, but it was rebuilt into the castle of Chosun Dynasty. There are many remains and relics in the castle such as Im Ryu-gyung, Est-palace, Yeongji, Binjeong, Byeonjeong, Chungcheongnam-do, Gyeonggi, Samcheok, Gongbuk, Jinnam-ro, Dongmun-ro,
