National Ethnic Arts Troupe
The National People's Troupe is a representative performing arts organization of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It was founded in 1947 as a Pyongyang arts group and performed mainly on the works of Changgeuk, 'Shim Cheongjeon', 'Janghwa Hongryun', and other traditional instrumental works and folk songs. In 1972, he was renamed the Pyongyang Arts Theater. He performed the revolutionary theater "Talk Junglim" and "Song of Mt. Kumgang". In 1973, he was awarded the Kim Il Sung Medal, and in 1975 he was renamed the Moran Band Troupe. In 1979, the cumulative number of performances reached 1,000 times. In 1987, he was renamed Pyongyang Arts Center. In the following year, he premiered the national theatrical performance 'Chunhyangjeon'. 'Chunhyangjeon' was promoted as a new type of theater that links the genealogy of revolutionary theater. It was also performed as a central repertoire in the Pyongyang Festival in 1989 and the tour in Japan in 1991. In 1992, the name changed to the present name, and in addition to 'Chunhyangjeon', 'Shimchungjeon' and 'Park Seojeon' were performed.
