Gumi National Industrial Complex
The Gumi National Industrial Complex is a national industrial complex located in Gumi City and Chilgok County, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and was established with the main objective of fostering the electronics and semiconductor industries. In the early days, production of fiber and household electronic products became the focus, but the semiconductor and digital industries were mainly fostered with mobile phone production sites such as Samsung Electronics. It is formed jointly with SMEs mainly by companies such as Samsung Electronics, LG Phillips LCD, Hynix, and Toray Saehan, which were jointly established by LG Electronics and Philips. The area is relatively flat compared to the surrounding area, and the Nakdong River, which passes through the complex, is supplied with more than 330,000 tons of water a day, making it an optimal industrial park.
