Deoksugung Palace
Deoksu Palace is the palace of Joseon in Jung-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul. It is the 124th historic building of Korea and the area is 63,069㎡. The original area was wider than it is now, but it has been reduced through the Japanese colonial period. The original name is Gyeongungung Palace. In the early Joseon period, Sejo lost her husband and left her palace. She was a personal slave. She was later transferred to the palace by her husband's wealth. After Imjinwaeran, the ancestor used the house of Wolsan-ri as a temporary residence and became a palace. After the death of his ancestors in 1608, the Gwanghae army was crowned here, leaving it to Changdeok Palace, which was completed that year. In 1623, Arto was crowned here. It is also the place where King Gojong was crowned Emperor. In 1897, Kojong moved to the palace from the Russian embassy, and the palace was built with magnificent armor.
