silicon
Silicon or silicon is a chemical element with the symbol Si and the atomic number 14. 4 is a metal that is less reactive than carbon and more reactive than germanium. It is the next most abundant element in the earth's crust, accounting for 27.7% of the total mass. It is the eighth most abundant element in the universe in terms of mass. The earth is produced in the form of clay, sand, quartz, feldspar, and granite, and is mainly made of silicon dioxide or silicate. It is mainly composed of semiconductors and is composed mainly of glass, ceramics and cement in the form of silicon dioxide or silicate. It is also the main component of silicone resin. In modern times, it is used for semiconductor manufacturing, but most of it is used for iron smelting, aluminum casting, silica gel production. In most living organisms it plays a minor but essential role, especially in the case of some marine organisms such as the sea surface, it has a skeleton of silicon compounds.
