Socialist Party (Republic of Korea, 1998)
The Socialist Party was the Republic of Korea's progressive party created in 1998 under the name of the Young Progressive Party. Social republicanism 'and advocates pacifism and ecology through a program of de-exclusion. In 2007, the Socialist Party ran as a candidate for the Kim Dae-jung party in the 17th presidential election. However, Kummin resigned from his post in early 2008 with the responsibility for the outcome of the 2007 presidential election in Korea, and at the tenth meeting of the 10th National Congress for electing a new ruling party to conclude his remaining term of eight months, Candidate Choi Kwang- He was elected president. The Socialist Party then elected Choi Kwang Eun as the representative for the term of two years on November 30, 2008 through the twelfth party convention. As of November 1, 2010, Ahn Hyeon-sang was elected as a representative on the 14th party convention. On February 19, 2012, the 16th National Congress set up a committee to meet the progressive party. On March 4, 2012, it was dissolved due to the absorption integration into the Jinbo New Party.
