Mt. Hanlla
Mt. Halla is a dormant volcano with an area of 1,947m² and an area of 1,820km² in the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. It occupies most of Jeju Island. Mt. Kumgang and Mt. Jiri together with Mt. Formerly, it was called variously as Bugak, Wonsan, Jinsan, Sunsan, Two Mausoleum, Mount Burak, Yeongju Mountain, and Hemp Mountain. On the summit, there is a fireball called Baekrokdam. White roots means that white deer eat water. There are large and small parasitic volcanoes that are called ascending or evil in various parts of the mountain. Mt. Halla is a natural protected area designated as Natural Monument No. 182, and was designated as a national park on March 24, 1970. It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site at the 31st World Heritage Committee General Assembly of UNESCO on June 27, 2007.
