Hwang Sung Shin
The Hwangseong Newspaper is a daily newspaper which was founded in the year 1898 (2 years of Kwangmu) by taking the rights of Namgukyeon and Na Su Yeon. As the chief editor, Yu Geun, Park Eun Sik, Jang Ji Yeon and Shin Chae Ho acted. It was a private capital newspaper, a mixture of Korean and English, and was consistent with patriotic tone. In 1905, he was pronounced by Jang Ji-yeon's editorial on anti-Japanese sentiments on the Treaty of Friendship (1905). In 1910, during the Japanese colonial period, the newspaper was forced to be replaced with 'Hansung Newspaper'. The average circulation of the Hwangseong Newspaper for 13 years was about 3,000 copies.
