He is an economist in France. Born in Paris. Originally a physician, he was involved in statistical research on economics, particularly economic fluctuations, and contributed to the development of modern economic fluctuation theory. He was awarded the Borchin Prize in the paper "The Commercial Crisis in the United States and Its Periodic Recurrence in the United States" (1862), and described the regularity of the business cycle known as the " . 쥐글라르 프랑스의 경제학자. 파리 출생. 원래 의사였으나 경제학, 특히 경기변동의 통계적 연구에 종사하여 근대 경기변동이론의 발전에 공헌하였다. 논문 〈프랑스·영국·미국에서의 상업공황(商業恐慌)과 그 주기적 재발(週期的再發)〉(1862)로 보르댕상을 받았으며, 쥐글라르파동으로 알려진 경기순환의 규칙성을 서술하였다.
