Cashew paint It is also known as synthetic paint because it has similar properties to natural lacquer. It is based on the liquid contained in fruit shells of lacquer tree and cashew of tropical plants. When formalin or the like is caused to act on this liquid, the main component, cardanol and carroyl are polymerized to obtain a viscous (blackish brown) liquid. This is a cashew paint, which has heat resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance and electrical insulation. The luster is excellent, but it has weak defects such as weather lacquer (natural lacquer). 캐슈도료
열대성 식물인 옻나무과 캐슈의 과실 껍질에 함유되어 있는 액을 주원료로 한 유성도료로서 천연산 옻과 비슷한 성질로 합성 칠도료라고도 한다. 이 액에 포르말린 등을 작용시키면, 주성분인 카르단올과 카르돌이 중합하여, 점조성(粘稠性)의 흑갈색의 액체를 얻을 수 있다. 이것이 캐슈도료인데, 내열성 ·내유성(耐油性) ·내약품성이며 전기절연도도 우수하다. 광택은 우수하지만 천연 옻칠처럼 내후성(耐候性)에 약한 결점이 있다.
