Quedlinburg is a city in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The estimated population in 2010 is 28,424. In 922 it was set as the area of the hunter King Heinrich I, and the wall was built. After the death of Heinrich I in 936, Queen Matilda founded a religious facility for women here, which was reorganized as a convent in Otto I, the son of Heinrich I and Matilda in 966. Matilda, daughter of Otto I, became the first nunnery. Since then, Quedlinburg has become the 'Quadrinburg Sister Conquest' with an independent status with taxation and state control, and in the Middle Ages it joined the Hanja Alliance. In 1539, after the Reformation, Anna II, who was then a sister-in-law, converted to Protestantism.
