Kurant
Kurant is one of the fastest dances in the Renaissance and Baroque period. It comes from French 'courir'. From the latter half of the 16th century, the form of instrumental music began to appear, and in the middle of the 17th century it was placed behind the city of Allemand in classical suite. Courant has Italian-style 'Corente' and French-style 'Courant'. The former is a fast three-beat instrument with a rhythm of a fine sound, and the latter is characterized by a 3/2 or 6/4 beat, which is slightly slower than the former, sometimes replaced by a 3/2 beat and a 6/4 beat. There are many structurally free counterpoints, most of which are French-style.
