Queensland is mainly in the northeastern part of Australia, and the capital is Brisbane. The Pacific Ocean to the east, New South Wales to the south, and the Northern Territories to the west. Queensland is primarily a tropical island. It is the first place in the breeding of beef cattle, and the cultivation of sugar cane is also prominent on the east coast. The Mount Isa mine is a major producer of lead, zinc, copper, and uranium, and there is a bauxite glacier on the Yogyakotan Peninsula.
