Land Rover
Land Rover is a UK manufacturer of four-wheel drive cars, and is now part of Tata, India, along with Jaguar. If the American Jeep makes a low-end SUV, Land Rover is making a luxury SUV. Typical vehicles include the Range Rover, which is called 'Desert Rolls Royce', the Discovery, the back of the Range Rover, and the Land Rover's compact SUV, Freelander and Range Rover Evoque. Land Rover began in 1964 with a car named "Land Rover" by Roberts of Maurice Wilkes and Spencer Wilkes. In 1967, the Rover Group was acquired by the Railland Motor Company of England. In 1968, The merger with Holdings will change its name to British Railland. Then, in 1980, British Railland dismantled and changed its name to Rover. In 1994, BMW of Germany acquired Rover Group.
