Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz is a German philosopher and mathematician. Leibniz used a variety of languages, including Latin, French, and German, when he wrote his book. Leibniz has an important place in the history of philosophy and mathematics. Apart from Isaac Newton, he created infinite calculus, and Leibniz's mathematical notation is still widely used. Leibniz is one of the most inventors in mechanical calculators. He added automatic multiplication and division to Pascal's calculator, first portrayed the pin gear calculator in 1685, and invented the first mass-produced mechanical calculator, Leibniz Wheel. Leibniz also refined the binary number system, which is the basis for all digital computers. In philosophy Leibniz is famous for optimism. Leibniz, in a limited sense, concluded that the universe in which we live is the best universe God can create.
