Regensburg
Regensburg is a city in southern Bavaria. Population 130,080. Located in the center of Bavaria, on the banks of the Danube River, the Rege River joins. An old city, settled from prehistoric times, the Celtic lived in. During the Roman Empire, it was called Castra Regina, meaning fortress of the Regen River. It seems to have been the seat of the bishops at the end of the Roman Empire, and in 739 the Diocese of Regensburg was re-established. It was the capital of the Bavarian Duchy since the 6th century. This bridge, which was formerly the center of the northern part of the Danube, was built in the 12th century as a bridge across the river and developed into a trading city connecting Europe and North Korea. It became an empire-free city in the 13th century and greatly flourished as a center of trade, but then declined as trade routes changed due to the pioneering of the New World. In the 16th century, the Reformation became a Protestant area, but again the Catholic power became stronger. On the other hand, apart from the Imperial Free City, the Regensburg ordinance had independent power until the early 19th century.
