Malawi
The Republic of Malawi is a landlocked country in southeastern Africa, formerly called Nias Saland. It is bordered by Zambia in the northwest, Tanzania in the northeastern part, Mozambique in the eastern part, southern part and western part, and divided into Tanzania and Mozambique by the Malawi. The territory is over 118,000 square kilometers and the estimated population is more than 13.9 million. The capital is Lilongwe, the second, and the third largest city is Blantyre and Alcoholic, respectively. The name of the country, Malawi, originated from the old name of "Marabi", a local name for the region. It is also called the "warm heart of Africa". Malawi began to settled for the first time in the 10th century, until 1891, Aborigines ruled the area, and from then until 1964 it was colonized by the British. After independence, the day-to-day operation by President Hastings Banda was carried out, and Banda held the presidency until 1994 when he was out of power. Bingo Mutarika was elected in 2004 and has been president until now.
