Hammer Whale
Hammer Whale is a whale that belongs to the beak whale family. It is also called an oil whale, a Veraldius whale or a big whale. The body is 12-13 meters long and weighs 13.5-15 tons. The body is thin and long, the head is bulky, and there is a snout in the front end. The dorsal fin is small and is located on the back of the body. The upper jaw is spout-shaped, with the forehead suddenly rising from its back end, with a nostril at its apex. The lower jaw is longer than the upper jaw and protrudes forward and has two pairs of flat triangular teeth at the end. Body color is blackish brown, black with irregular white speckles on the abdomen. It lives in a herd of 2-30 horses and lives at a depth of 1,000m and dives more than 4,000m deep. Diving time is 50-80 minutes. They are squid, crab, shrimp, deep sea fish. The gestation period is about 17 months, and it gives birth to young in 3-4 months. It is distributed in the North Pacific Ocean from the Bering Sea to California.
