Mannheim
Mannheim is the second largest city in Baden-Württemberg, after Stuttgart with a population of 320,000. The city, which was once the old capital of Kurfurst, is still the center of economy and culture in Rhine-Neckar Metropol. The city of Rhineland-Palatinate, Ludwigshafen, faces the Rhine. Since 1900, Mannheim has been an important industrial, commercial and transportation hub. The second largest train ministry in Germany and the important connection ports of Europe are the foundation. Mannheim is also the center of German studies, with German researchers and Duden Publishing. Mannheim is also home to important modern inventions. The first bicycle was built by Karl Dryas in 1817, followed by Car-Benz in 1886 and the tractor in 1921. In recent years, active music performances have gained fame.
