Karnetselrode
Karl Vasilievich Graf Nesselod is a Russian diplomat. In 1801, he began his diplomatic career by working for Prussia and the Russian embassy in the Netherlands. In 1807, he helped to conclude the Treaty of Tiljite, was attached to the Russian embassy in France, and struggled to prevent war between France and Russia. After the Napoleonic Wars, he attended the meeting of Alexander I in Vienna. At this meeting, Alexander I and Nesselrodte were not able to confront the Castelay of England, Talelan of France, Metternich of Austria, and Hardenberg of Prussia. When it became clear that the British-French-Austrian coalition had been associated with the Warsaw Grand National problem, he was severely criticized by the emperor. In the end, Russia was forced to retreat from its original claim. In 1825, Nicholas I was in control of the Russian diplomacy after the appointment of Nikolai I.
