Norilsk
Norilsk is a town in the Krasnoyarsk region and a town in the Tyrian Autonomous Region. It is the municipality of Krasnoyarsk. It is located to the north of the Central Siberian Plateau, to the south of the Tyumir Peninsula and 90 km east of the Yenisei River. The population is 129,800. It is a city with a population of over 100,000, and is the only northernmost city in the world. In addition to nickel mines, copper, cobalt, and other metals are produced. Norilsk's kombinat produces 35% of the world's palladium, 25% of platinum, 20% of nickel, 20% of rhodium and 10% of cobalt. In addition, 96% of the nickel produced in Russian Federation, 95% of cobalt and 55% of copper are produced in Norilsk's kombinat. It is also connected to the Dudinka on the lower stream of the Yenisei River by motorway or railroad. Higher education institutions include Norilsk Institute of Technology and Norilsk University of Economics. There is a theater or a museum. Norilsk is home to the Orthodox cathedral and the northernmost mosque of the world, Nyudokar.
