Great King Panda
The Great Panda is a mammal with bears inhabited in Sichuan province of China and the high mountains of Tibet. It is also known as the Giant Panda, sometimes called the Panda, or the Royal Panda, omitting the giant. It is also called panda in English pronunciation. The name 'giant panda' in English is attached to the fact that it is a big animal eating bamboo leaves like a baby panda. In Chinese, it is called "Xiaoshun Mao", which means baby panda. It is easily recognizable by its big size, black spots around its ears and eyes. It belongs to carnivorous, but 99% of the meal is bamboo. Sometimes wild pandas consume other plants or meat. Panda lives mainly in the mountains of Sichuan Province, but also in Shanxi Province and Gansu Province. The habitat has been reduced by human activities such as clearing and cutting. Panda is an endangered species. As of 2007, there are 239 breeds in China and 27 other countries.
