Pensacola
Pensacola is a port city at the northwest end of Florida, USA. It is the county seat of Escanbia County. In 2000, the city had a population of 56,255. The population currently reported by the US Census Bureau in 2004 is 54,734. The Greater Pentecostal City area has a population of 412,153. It is the largest city on the Gulf Coast between Mobile and Tampa, the largest metropolis in northwest Florida. Port of Pensacola is a port of peninsula and cola bay overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Pensacola is also home to the expedition team Blue Angels and has the largest US naval aviation base in the United States with the National Naval Aviation Museum. Pensacola is historically known as "the streets of five countries" because it belongs to five countries in Spain, France, Britain, the Confederacy, and now the United States of America. In addition to this rich historical background, the Gulf is home to some of the best beaches and is well-publicized, making it a popular resort city and tourist destination. The airport, which is the gateway to the city, is Pensacola Airport.
