Philippine Tarsier Monkey
The Philippine Tarsier Monkey is an endangered species monkey, native to the Philippines. It is called Madame in Mumbai and Luzon in the area of Cebu Anovisan. It is found in the southeastern part of the Philippine Islands, particularly in the islands of Bohol and Samar, Leyte and Mindanao. The Philippines is the only species in the tarsier. Previously, it was classified as a species belonging to a tarsier, but in 2010 it was divided into separate genus. Karlito was named after Karito Pizaras, the field manager of the Philippine Tarsier Monkey Wildlife Sanctuary in Bohol Island and a significant contributor to the preservation of the Philippine Tarsier monkey.
