Potassium cyanide
Potassium cyanide is an inorganic compound with the KCN formula. The lethal dose is 0.15g, which is a potent poison that can be killed by ingesting very small amounts. It is originally used as an electrolyte for electroplating. Potassium cyanide is a colorless crystal that looks very similar to sugar. It is very soluble in water and toxic. In the wet state, hydrolysis produces a small amount of cyanide. Most cyanide potassium is used for gold mining, organic synthesis, electroplating, and some are used for plating or buffing gems. In addition, entomologists use potassium cyanide to make specimens, since potassium cyanide can kill insects quickly to minimize damage.
