The name Santonin mugwort is maritime mugwort. It is dried outpost of Artemisia maritima L.. It is planted in various places. When the bud is lost, the outpost is dried and dried in the shade. The outpost contains a compound of the oxytocin such as Santonin, Monoginin, Artemisin. It shows the antiparasitic effect on the roundworm. It is used for the syphilis, the vermiformis. 10 ~ 15g a day in the form of a tablet, pills, powder, and then 1 hour after eating salt lye. It is mainly used as raw material of Santonin. 산토닌쑥 딴 이름은 마리티마쑥이다. 국화과 식물인 산토닌쑥 Artemisia maritima L.의 전초를 말린 것이다. 각지에서 심는다. 꽃봉오리가 졌을 때 전초를 베어 그늘에서 말린다. 전초에 산토닌, 모노기닌, 아르테미신 등의 낙톤 화합물이 들어 있다. 회충에 대한 구충 작용을 나타낸다. 회충증, 요충증에 쓴다. 하루에 10~15g을 탕제 · 환제 · 산제 형태로 먹은 다음 1시간 정도 지나 염류 설사약을 먹는다. 주로 산토닌의 원료로 쓴다.
