Sericin It is a protein that constitutes cocoon fiber together with fibroin as one of light protein (hard protein). The silkworm cocoon fiber is covered with three layers of sericin in two strands of fibroin. The rough and hard feeling of silk and silk is attached to sericin. When it is refined, it melts and becomes unique texture of silk. The color of silkworm fiber is determined by the carotenoid dye contained in sericin, and the amino acid composition of sericin is remarkably rich in serine. 세리신
경단백질(硬蛋白質)의 하나로 피브로인과 함께 누에고치 섬유를 구성하는 단백질이다. 누에고치 섬유는 2가닥의 피브로인이 3층의 세리신으로 덮여 있는데 생사의 거칠고 딱딱한 느낌은 이 세리신이 부착되어 있기 때문이며 정련하면 녹아 없어져서 견사 특유의 감촉이 된다. 또한 세리신 속에 함유된 카로티노이드계 색소에 의해 누에고치 섬유의 색이 결정되며, 세리신의 아미노산 조성은 세린이 뚜렷하게 많다.
