cytology It is the study which studies the cell which is a unit of organism. In 1665, the cell was named by Hook, and then the zoology of the zoologist T. Shuban (1839) was advocated and the protoplasm of M.J. Schultz came up. At the end of the 19th century, the discovery of fission, cell division, and meiosis has led to the discovery of the discipline of cytology, which is now divided into protoplasties, nuclear physics, chromosomes, cellular physiology, cytogenetics, cell chemistry, and cell physics. In particular, the invention of the electron microscope and the chemical and physical methods accelerated these studies. 세포학
생물체의 구성단위인 세포를 연구하는 학문을 일컫는다. 1665년 훅에 의해 세포라는 이름이 붙여져, 이후 동물학자 T.슈반(1839)의 세포설이 주창되고 M.J.슐츠의 원형질설까지 나오게 되었다. 19세기 말경 핵분열 ·세포분열 ·감수분열 등의 발견으로 세포학이라는 학문으로 부각되어 현재는 원형질학 ·핵학 ·염색체학 ·세포생리학 ·세포유전학 ·세포화학 ·세포물리학 등으로 갈라지게 되어 발달하였다. 특히 전자현미경의 발명과 화학적, 물리적 방법이 이들 연구를 가속화시켰다.
