A CD-ROM or CD-ROM is a compact disc in which a large amount of data is stored in digital form. It is a widely used storage device for distributing software to computers. Although it is widely used in game machines, in the case of a CD-ROM for a game machine, a unique standard may be used for each model. CD-ROM 또는 시디롬은 많은 양의 자료가 디지털 형태로 저장되는 콤팩트 디스크이다. 컴퓨터에 소프트웨어를 보급할 때 널리 사용되는 저장장치이다. 게임기에서도 많이 이용되고 있으나 게임기용 CD-ROM의 경우 기종별로 독자적인 규격을 사용하고 있는 경우도 있다.
