It is a grape variety grown in southern France, especially for the Langue doc Roussillon region. It has a light body and high acidity, and the amount of tannin is low. It grows well in hot climates and is widely grown in South Africa. Blending usually Grenache and Carignan. 쌩쏘 프랑스 남부지방, 특히 랑그독 루씨용(Langue doc Roussillon) 지역에서 재배되는 포도품종이다. Light Body와 높은 산도를 가지고 있으며 타닌(Tannin)의 양은 적게 들어있다. 더운 기후에서 잘 자라는 특성이 있어 남아프리카에서도 널리 재배되고 있다. 보통 그르나슈(Grenache)와 까리냥(Carignan)을 Blending한다.
