Suda, Soda or Suidas is a 10th century Byzantine encyclopedia dealing with the ancient Mediterranean world. "Talk" is a very large volume, and in the past, the author of the book was considered to be Suidas. This book is an encyclopedic dictionary of medieval Greek, containing over 30,000 entries. The content of the items is mainly originated from the ancient literature that is now lost, and there are often sources from the medieval Christian literature. The book named Suhda appears to originate from the Byzantine-era Greek Soudha, which means fortress or citadel. And Eustastio of Thessalonica misunderstood the title of the book as the author's name, and as a result of this error a book named Suidas was born. "Suddenly" is located halfway between the grammar dictionary and the encyclopedia of modern meaning. In this book, the origins and meanings of each word are explained in terms of the philosophy of the time, and there are explanations using the statements of the early authorities, such as Harpocration and Helia Dios.
