Mercury
Mercury is a chemical element with the symbol Hg and atomic number 80. It is a heavy, silver transition metal, and mercury is one of the five elements that are liquid at around 30 degrees Celsius. It is mainly obtained from Jinsha. It is possible to make a gold atom by colliding a mercury atom with a high-speed beryllium atom. However, even if the same operation is performed for one year, only 0.00018 g of gold can be produced. It is a metal that is liquid at room temperature and is a heavy liquid with a silver-white metallic luster. When made into a solid, it has a metallic luster of tin-white, and it is large in malleability and ductility. That is, it has the property of easy stretching and easy spreading. Mercury can be made of most metals and alloys except iron, nickel, cobalt, and magnesium, which is called amalgam. It does not dissolve in hydrochloric acid, but it is dissolved in nitric acid and becomes mercury nitrate. In the air, it is stable when it is dry, but in the humid air, the surface is oxidized and a gray coating is formed. At 300 ° C or higher, it becomes mercury. When it exceeds 400 ° C, it decomposes again and becomes mercury.
