Hongcheon-eup
Hongcheon-eup is the county seat of Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do, and is the center of traffic, industry and culture. Located in the center of the Hongcheon-gun, the road network is concentrated at the center of the Hongcheon Basin, on the coast of Geummachon. Hongcheon is a city developed along with Chuncheon, Hoengseong, Wonju, etc. There are 78 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, and 6 high schools within the county. In the town center of Hope, there is the Hongcheon General Bus Terminal, which is the headquarters of the Geumgang Expressway. The population of Hongcheon-eup is 35,731 as of 2014.
