Trichloroacetic acid
Trichloroacetic acid is a compound in which all hydrogen atoms of methyl are replaced by chlorine atoms. This material is widely used in biochemical experiments for the precipitation of polymeric proteins such as DNA or RNA. The sodium salt of the substance is used as herbicide. The solution containing the acid is used for cosmetic purposes such as chemical peeling or tattoo removal.
