Unification Social Party
The Unification Socialist Party is the successor party of the Socialist Party that was created on January 21, 1961. The revolutionary forces that were defeated in the July 29 general elections in 1960 lost their political foundations due to the division of the social masses. After the general election, some of the forces that broke up with the Socialist Party were promoting the integration of the five innovative political parties, such as the Korean Socialist Party, the Innovation Federation, the Social Innovation Party, and the Korean Independence Party, However, on Nov. 27, the recent Popular People's Party, Yoo Byeong-mook and others formed the Socialist Party, which promotes national reunification based on free lines.
