A permanent revolution
The permanent revolution is Trotsky's theory of communist revolution. Here, 'permanent' means 'continuing to the final victory', opposing the phased communist theory that traditional communism constitutes a social revolution after achieving a two-stage revolution, the first being a liberal revolution under the auspices of the bourgeois class, The reason is that the bourgeois socialist revolution, in other words the bourgeois democratic revolution, can not be achieved because of the internal contradictions of the bourgeois order.
