Yeosu
Yeosu is a city located on the Yeosu peninsula in south-east Jeollanam-do. The area is 503.83 km², the coastline length is 879.03km, there are 365 attached islands. The petrochemical industry has developed with 264 companies including GS Caltex, LG Chem, and Lotte Chemical in Yeosu National Industrial Complex, which is a coastal industrial complex. It produces 48% of Korea Petrochemical. Among the attractions are Jeonnam-gu, a Jeonjae swimming base, where General Admiral Yi worked, and Ohdong Island, designated as Hallyeo Marine National Park. The higher education institution is Jeonnam University Yeosu campus. In 2013, the Marine Police Training Center was transferred to the city. City Hall is located in the school district, Yeosu-dong is the city council, Yeongseong Government Office, Yeosu Regional Maritime Port Authority, and Dolsan-eup is located in Dolsan-eup. The administrative district is one town, six towns and 20 towns. In 2014, the population is 294,196, the most populous city in Jeollanam-do. The 2012 World Exposition was held.
