Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome

Sindrom Kurang Daya Tahan Melawan Penyakit

Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (English: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a serious disease caused by the HIV virus (English: Human Immunodeficiency Virus). AIDS is caused by HIV virus that attacks and destroys the immune system. An individual gets AIDS when the HIV virus destroys the body's defense system. Defective body defense systems make individuals easily infected with bacteria and other viruses that can cause severe illness. Sindrom Kurang Daya Tahan Melawan Penyakit atau lebih dikenali sebagai AIDS (bahasa Inggeris: Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) (Sindrom Kelemahan/Kekurangan Imun Perolehan atau "SKIP")) ialah satu penyakit serius disebabkan oleh virus HIV (bahasa Inggeris: Human Immunodeficiency Virus). AIDS disebabkan oleh virus HIV yang menyerang dan memusnahkan daya ketahanan badan. Seseorang individu mendapat AIDS apabila virus HIV merosakkan sistem pertahanan tubuh badan. Sistem pertahanan badan yang tidak berfungsi menjadikan individu mudah dijangkiti bakteria dan virus-virus lain yang boleh menyebabkan sakit teruk.
