Barus
Barus or also known as Fansur is a subdistrict now located in Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra. Camphor lime, a type of substance that is substituted on the betel leaf before being eaten, comes from here. Barus is home to Hamzah Fansuri, a renowned tasawuf expert in Indonesia. But it's uncertain whether he was born there or his family moved there when he was a kid.
