Malaysian National News Agency
Malaysian National News Agency or simply BERNAMA, a statutory body, set up under the 1967 Parliament Act and commenced operations on 26 May 1968. This national news agency is under the jurisdiction of the Malaysian Information Ministry and the current BERNAMA chairman is Datuk Abdul Rahman Sulaiman. BERNAMA provides real-time news and economic news and timely financial information services to its customers in Malaysia and Singapore. BERNAMA's role as the latest and most reliable national news source is well-known among local and foreign media, government agencies, private companies, universities and individuals in the country, especially with regard to finance and general news. Most newspapers and electronic media in Malaysia and foreign news agencies are BERNAMA customers.
