In the teachings of Islam, the Antichrist is an evil creature that will appear before the Day of Judgment. In the Christian teaching, the devil is known as the Antichrist. "The devil" comes from the usual Arabic word, used to refer to "false prophet". But "Al-Dajal", with definite plans, refers to "Si penyamar", a specific liar before the coming of the Day of Judgment. The term Ad-Dajal Al-Masih is a translation related to the Syriac term "Meshiha Deghala", which has been a common vocabulary in the Middle East for more than 400 years before the decline of the Koran, through Peshitta.
