DDT

DDT is one of the most famous synthetic insecticides. It is a chemical with a long history, unique and controversial. It was first synthesized in 1874 and began to be known for its poisonous properties only in 1939. Effective use in the middle of the Second World War to control malaria and typhus among residents and fighters. Swedish chemist Paul Herman Müller has been crowned the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1978 "for his discovery of the effective use of DDT as a toxin against some type of arthropod." After the war, DDT was used as an insecticide in agriculture and then its use and production increased dramatically.
