Initiative
The initiative carries the meaning of the business or the first movement. In political science, the initiative provides a way in which a petition signed by a certain minimum number of registered voters may force public votes on statutes, constitutional amendments, charter amendments or ordinances, or, in a minimum form, to simply require the executive or legislative body to consider the matter by sending it to day setting. This is a form of direct democracy. The initiative can take the form of either "a direct initiative" or "an indirect initiative". Under the direct initiative, the measure is entered directly into the poll after being submitted by a petition. Under the indirect initiative, measures were initially referred to the legislature, and then brought to popular polls only if not authorized by the legislature. In US use, popular voices in certain cases are referred to as polls only if they come from the law. Such value is known, when it comes to the initiative process, as an "initiative", "vote ball" or "motion".
