KGB

WHAT DOES KGB MEAN IN MALAY?

KGB

KGB, the abbreviation for the Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti (Russia: Комитет государственной безопасности (КГБ), translation into English as a Committee for State Security or National Security Committee), was a security agency for the Soviet Union from 1954 until its collapse in 1991. 1954 as a direct successor to previous agencies such as Cheka, NKGB, and MGB, this committee was placed in the Council of Ministers. It is the main government agency under the "jurisdiction of republican union", acts as a domestic security agency, intelligence agency, and secret police. The same agencies have been placed in every Soviet Union apart from Russia and cover many ministries, state committees, and state commissions. The KGB is a military service and has been governed by military laws and regulations, similar to the Soviet Army or the Internal Troops]. While most KGB archives remain classified, two online documentary sources are available.
