Cocoa or its scientific name Theobroma cacao of the family "Sterculiaceae" is from the Greek meaning the food of the gods. The cocoa tree produces fruit that the seeds are taken for chocolate and cocoa. Cocoa was introduced in the country in 1920 and commercial cultivation began in 1950. Cocoa originates from the Amazon Valley and other South Tropical and Central America regions. In Malaysia cultivate commercially when Upper Amazon calculators are suitable for cultivation in the country. Pokok koko menghasilkan buah yang bijinya diambil untuk dibuat coklat dan minuman koko. Koko mula diperkenalkan di negara ini pada tahun 1920 dan penanaman secara komersial bermula pada 1950. Koko berasal dari Lembah Amazon dan lain-lain kawasan Selatan Tropika dan Amerika Tengah. Di Malaysia penanaman secara komersial apabila kaltivar Upper Amazon didapati sesuai ditanam di negara ini. Pokok koko adalah kecil dengan ketinggian antara, merupakan pokok malar hijau dalam Famili Sterculiaceae, yang berasal dari Amerika Selatan dan Amerika Tengah. Benih koko biasanya digunakan untuk menghasilkan koko dan coklat. Pokok koko tumbuh secara semulajadi pada tahap ketinggian 1,000 kaki, dan memerlukan cuaca lembab dengan hujan berkala dan tanah yang subur. Benih koko, biasanya dipanggil "beans", terkandung di dalam buah yang dikenali sebagai pod koko yang berbentuk bujur, sepanjang 15-30 cm, dan 8-10 cm lebar.
